Um ... from the Universal Doctor (St Albertus Magnus) we learn that there can be no radical division between knowledge and faith: "[Dionysius] says that 'faith is an abiding" ... And the cause of this unchangeable steadfastness is indicated next: it is of the nature of knowledge ... because perfect knowledge makes us stand firm in the one, simple "whatness" of something ..." (Commentary on the Divine Names, tr. Tugwell). Faith enlightens the intellect to understand truths that would not be "visible" with an unenlightened, faithless mind. As Teresa Benedict of the Cross (Edith Stein) wrote "... faith is a way to truth. Indeed, in the first place it is a way to truths - plural - which would otherwise be closed to us, and in the second place it is the surest way to truth. For there is no greater certainty than that of faith ..." ("Knowledge and Faith," tr. Redmond, pp. 16-17). It's only under the light of faith, given to the intellect, that the *will* (also known metaphorically as the "heart") can turn a human person to love (caritas) towards his or her neighbor. Opposing reason against faith, or opposing doctrine against truly-felt-Jesus-in-my-heartism, is specious. Jesus comes through the One Deposit of Revelation, consisting of Scripture and Tradition. It really is One and cannot be split except through grievous human error. @Richard A Satire, my good man. Just some mild satire ... - Myshkin
